Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint in Pearl + Jouer Moisture Tint Matte Review

Hello and thank you for visiting my little blog!

This is my first blog post and I am really excited to start putting posts together and giving myself an outlet for something I am really passionate about - beauty and skincare.

Today I am going to talk about my experience with Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint in Pearl (which I purchased) and the Jouer Moisture Tint Matte which I requested samples of.

I have dry skin, and a averagely oily nose, which makes finding a foundation rather tricky, especially if it's a dewy finish foundation/tinted moisturiser  I ordered Pearl after a lot of research because I didn't want to end up with a product that's wrong shade and to the best of my knowledge there isn't a Jouer counter nearby - Zzzzz, asleep yet?! Anyway I requested (by email) that they would stick in a sample of the nearest shade to Pearl in the matte version to see if it would work on my nose.

I shall start for what did work for me.

The Moisture Tint in Pearl was the perfect tone for my NW20 skin, I had heard it was golden which scared me a little, however what I found was it was certainly warm toned with a golden undertone which blended beautifully (I used the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush - Real Techniques Brushes are slowly becoming my favourite, but that's another post!) and left with me a really wonderful glow that still looked natural and not too over the top.

It is on the sheer side and can't say it covers spots or redness, however because it applies like a dream and leaves you with such smooth skin, I found any concealer I added on top would just glide on and blend out so evenly. It is in my opinion the best product for that natural glowy/healthy look that I have come across. It was everything I had wished for and more and I am so happy I took the plunge and ordered it. I am also contemplating getting it in the next shade up for those days I use my Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning For Face as I can't bear being without it.

What didn't work for me.

For reference the two samples I received in the Jouer Moisture Tint Matte were Chamomile and Porcelain. Chamomile was too dark and Porcelain was too light. Typically the two mixed together matched my NW20 face perfectly.

At that point there was so much hype around the Matte version and I really wanted to try it, and I stupidly decided to apply it all over my face to see what all the fuss was about. BAD IDEA! Within minutes of trying it my face felt very dry and tight, It looked so powdery and very obvious as well as very itchy. I literally run upstairs to grab my wash bag so I could wash my face in the downstairs bathroom. It was so dry I also grabbed my Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask and also added my Origins Night-a-Mins around the drier areas.

SO if you are prone to oily skin or combination I really think Jouer Moisture Tint Matte would be a great product for you, and really does soak up any excess moisture on your skin, however with my dry skin that was a really bad idea and my skin needed a good two days of intensive moisturising before it got back to how it was previously. However I have been now using it exclusively on my nose as of course it isn't as Luminizing as the non matte version, but it is still very good.

I am really excited to try more Jouer products, if you use Jouer which products would you recommend?

Thanks for reading!

  1. Thank you! Finally a review on the Matte Moisture Tint for dry skin! I've been thinking of purchasing but I don't think I will. And my face is dry, but I have a "glowy" product. :)

(Sorry I know this was written in April, but I just googled lol)
