You can't wear that, it's too cold!!!

Good morning,

I have had this saved in my drafts since Wednesday (it is now Friday) and thought I would finally publish this post so I can start sharing today's/tonight's outfits.

The title of this post pretty much defines the reaction to many of the last two weeks outfits, but being a big fan of sexy layering (as opposed to frumpy layering) I'm never all that cold. That said, I'm yet to find my winter coat and I'm in seriously in need of a new one!

These are just a few outfits from the last few weeks, I have stick 'old' by pieces you can't get hold of in the shops anymore as there is nothing more annoying than trapsing online/instore for an item you like the look of and can't find!!

Cami - Topshop / Skirt(old) - Arrogant Cat / Heels - Zara

Cami - Topshop / Trousers - River Island / Heels - Zara

Tee - Missguided / Trousers - River island / Heels (old) - Zara

(Both both pictures) Jacket & Heels - Zara / T-shirt - Ebay / Trousers - River Island

Cami & Jeans - Topshop / Heels - Office

Cami & Shorts (old) - Topshop / Heels (old)- Dune

Going to mix it up and start posting wishlists as I am LOVING the winter stock at the moment, so many gorgeous pieces!

Much love xxx

It's been too long...too long

Hello there!!

I'm dedicated in every area of my life, but sometimes, only sometimes I have to admit defeat and accept that something I love and enjoy very much has to take a back seat for a short while in order for everything else to function efficiently, so what I am trying to say in a round about way is I've been busy and decided to bite the bullet and put together a post after a a long month!

There are quite a few outfits since my last post, so I am not going to attempt to list them all, leave me a comment if there is anything you want to ask or alternatively, if you follow me on Instagram (ContourCrazy) all items will be listed!

Lots of love!! Xxx

#wwit - Saturday 21/09/13

Hello there!

With the weather getting colder and me spending more evenings outside in the cold, I thought it would make sense to stick on a pair of jeans and blazer, but of course the jeans had to be tight and the blazer had to be fitted...I'm a one trick pony :p

(Top - River Island, Necklace & Shoes - Zara, Jeans - Topshop, Bag - Aldo)

I love these shoes and how tbe orange really 'popped' against my acid jeans. I really want all the colour variants of these shoes so shall be hunting ebay till I have them all!!

Have a great Monday,

Much love! X

My night out essentials...

Hello there!!

As someone that doesn't really get the chance go out as often as I'd like, when I do go out I like to not only look my best, but for it to stay that way. I spend a lot of time that I am out in shisha cafes which means open spaces and of course, as we are in London, this means wind, and it's often eye watering cold.

These are the things I take with me (which all fit into the zip up pouch I picked up from h&m - great for a cheap make up bag that still looks nice but you don't want to worry about getting ruined)

(MAC MSF in Medium and Soft & Gentle / Bobbi Brown Bronzer Brush / EstéeLauder  Bronze Goddess 003 / MAC Quad in Nylon, All That Glitters, Woodwinked and Tempting / MAC Sunny Souel Lipstick / Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation 53 / MAC Brushes 213, 239, 210, 209 / Real Techniques Buffing Brush & Setting Brush / Clarins Lip Perfector  / Elnett Hairspray /  Boots Cotton Sticks / Recharge Iphone Charger)

I would say out of this the three things (couldn't choice one - sorry!) would be my Clarins Lip Perfector, Estée Lauder Bronzer and Bobbi Brown Bronzer Brush. Your lips can get dry after hours of shisha and cold combined, and of course no evening out is complete (especially for a self confessed bronzing addict) without the obligatory bronzer top up.

Would love to know what you carry in your evening make up bag!

Bye!

#wiwt - Saturday 14/09/13

Hello there!

Had a great night out yesterday but feeling rather icky today so shall keep this post short and sweet!!

Saturday:

(Crop top & Skirt - River Island / Rose gold belt - Mango / Necklace - Zara / Heels - Office)

As always I felt a little over dressed..it underdressed for sitting outside in the cold for 6+ hours but hey, at least I loom good while I shivered! I picked this skirt up especially for Saturday on Friday really glad I did, I can wear in so many ways and love how just by teaming it with a black top has made it look like a dress!

Awaiting two pairs of shoes this week too...can't wait! Managed to get two new pairs of shoes I have wanted from Zara from two seasons ago :D

Have a lovely Sunday, much love!!

#wiwt - Friday 13/09/13

Hello there!

Friday 13th..
(Top - River Island / Trousers - Zara / Wedges - Aldo)

River island has slowly become my go to back for lovely unique pieces on the high street. These silky tops are so pretty, and wearable, while adding a touch of class to the outfit.

Love my Zara trousers but sadly they don't fit as well as they used to, not tight enough around the hips which means tops that are tucked in aren't held in. I'm on the hunt for the perfect black trousers ...again...

It's become almost habit to head to the same old corner of the house to get my outfit pictures take , however the light just isn't the best especially when trying to show what shoes I'm in, so I'm going to try and find a new spot.

Currently prepping for tonight, my favourite thing to do! Much love to all and hope you have a great weekend. (Shall hopefully update tomorrow)

Week of outfit posts..up to 11/09/13

Hello there!

As always I have failed to keep my promise so instead I shall bombard you a with this weeks outfits starting from Saturday 7th - Wednesday 11th September.

Saturday:

(Dress - H&M / Belt & Shoes - River Island / Bag - Aldo)

Tuesday:

(Top - Zara / Necklace - Marc Jacobs / Joni Jeans - Topshop / Shoes - Office)

Wednesday:
(Top - River Island / Necklace & Trousers - Zara / Shoes - Office)

As you can see I like to make simple pieces my own by adding accessories like belts or maybe a bold pair of trousers! I love trying new combinations and I always try and buy items that can be worn in many different ways. Well of course there are a couple of exceptions here and there, but I am human!

Shall probably update tomorrow with today's outfit and then update on Sunday with the weekend stuff, rather than letting it build up for a week, which just means I can't really talk about each outfit as much as I would like!!

Have a great Friday lovely people

Update and 26/08 OOTD

Hello there!

It's been nearly five months since I updated my blog and I have really missed it, I have had so much to do the last few months that sitting down and typing up 300 words on my fabourite mascara just seemed like such a tedious task!

I have been thinking about what posts to put up for the last few days and I will be concentrating on fashion posts mixed in with beauty/reviews/wishlists/hauls/general lifestyle stuff.

Here's yesterday's OOTD to get me started!

(Top - River Island, Joni Jeans - Topshop, Heels - Zara, Nails - Essie 'Snap Happy')

I love simple and fresh basics coming together to make something...not so basic! Plus the heeled sandals make the outfit somewhat fresh and a bit sexy!  Zara shoes are my current favourite, they never get it wrong! Red nails are a must when wearing whites and blues, just gives it that edge.

Had a massive fail that you thankfully can't see, gave myself a pedi a few hours before the gym and once I'd removed my gym socks post work out I had the sock print imbedded into my polish, I guess it's technically textured so still kinda on trend...hmm

I will hopefully make these OTTD a daily feature, depending on time and photo quality of course!

Thanks for reading!!

Foundations that I can't live without

Hello there!

Thanks for visiting my little blog, today I am going to have a little chit chat about my favourite foundations, I had the images ready for these yesterday but made the ultimate boo-boo and forgot about the most important one - what a doughnut, so I am waiting for the sun to smile so I can retake the pictures!

As I have dry skin with a averagely oily nose and it is a nightmare hunting down the perfect product that will answer all my skins prayers. When I do find one that my skin and I love I squeal with joy and never want to live without it, ever! That said it doesn't stop me wanting to find other options as variety is the spice of life right..or so I have been led to believe.

Here are my ultimate favourites

MAC Studio Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation (NW20) - My holy grail foundation for my oily nose. Yes a holy grail product for one area of my face may sound excessive but not when it was ruining my confidence! I set all my foundations with this bad boy (nose only) and it doesn't budge for hours, it zoops up all the oil and looks matte and fabulous! Because it's in a compact, it means I can take it with me wherever I go. If you have not tried it my oily friends, I recommend you do so. ASAP

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix Foundation (52) - Not to be confused with Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum which I shall talk about in another post. (hint hint) This foundation is light but buildable, leaves me with a dewy finish and it has a really smooth application. It doesn't tug around try bits and looks very natural, I like to use this 'normal days' when running errands, but when I still want to look healthy and glowy. If you have dry skin like me this is a beautiful formula and I really do recommend it, and if you have a oily nose all you need is some powder. It lasts for a good 6-8 hours on my face.

Chanel Vitalumiere Foundation (20) - I love this foundation, OK I love them all, but the reason I love this one is a little different, Vitalumiere is the foundation I use for bad skin days due to it's buildable nature and that I find it ever so moisturising and gentle on my skin on days I need it. It is very dewy (in my opinion, in a natural way) however it doesn't get more dewy the more I apply, and does not look cakey either, it just provides more coverage. I do set the nose area with powder and I am ready to go. For this fact I really believe it's worth it's weight in gold, anyone with a dry skin run to your local counter, get colour matched and grab a sample, you will not regret it. It lasts for a good 6-8 hours on my face.

Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint (Pearl) - I reviewed this yesterday, and although it isn't a foundation, I truly believe you can use it as one. I really believe Jouer are under selling themselves by claiming it's a tinted 'Moisture Tint', but I would imagine it's because of it's uber sheer nature, which in my opinion makes it that much more appealing. It's dewy, almost to perfection, provides you with the most natural glow, and just makes you look so healthy while it evens out your skin tone. The glow is so perfect that you don't even want to add anything on top, and from a self confessed cream highlight addict like myself, is a triumph. It's smooth so if you use a concealer on top it will blend like a dream. Very moisturising, and although it is buildable coverage I prefer one application. HG product! It lasts for a good 6 hours on my face.

YSL Touche Le Teint Eclat Foundation (B40) - This is a fantastic foundation, the dewy finish isn't as good as the above foundations but it's still very very good. It almost brightens and illuminates the face, so the intense dewy finish isn't required. I love how it goes on and how it makes my face look, I just can't stop staring at my face (something that doesn't happen often believe me!) however I just don't find it as moisturising as the other ones I use, I still adore this and also like the fact it's so buildable, and how nicely is blends out. I use this on 'good skin days' and although I don't use it as much as I would like to (naughty skin) I will purchase this forever more (big statement hey!) ahhhh dreamy. It lasts for a good 6-8 hours on my face.

So there we are, a rather long winded post about the foundations I can't live without!

What are yours? If by the sounds of things we have a similar skin type, please let me know what you use/recommend!

Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint in Pearl + Jouer Moisture Tint Matte Review

Hello and thank you for visiting my little blog!

This is my first blog post and I am really excited to start putting posts together and giving myself an outlet for something I am really passionate about - beauty and skincare.

Today I am going to talk about my experience with Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint in Pearl (which I purchased) and the Jouer Moisture Tint Matte which I requested samples of.

I have dry skin, and a averagely oily nose, which makes finding a foundation rather tricky, especially if it's a dewy finish foundation/tinted moisturiser  I ordered Pearl after a lot of research because I didn't want to end up with a product that's wrong shade and to the best of my knowledge there isn't a Jouer counter nearby - Zzzzz, asleep yet?! Anyway I requested (by email) that they would stick in a sample of the nearest shade to Pearl in the matte version to see if it would work on my nose.

I shall start for what did work for me.

The Moisture Tint in Pearl was the perfect tone for my NW20 skin, I had heard it was golden which scared me a little, however what I found was it was certainly warm toned with a golden undertone which blended beautifully (I used the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush - Real Techniques Brushes are slowly becoming my favourite, but that's another post!) and left with me a really wonderful glow that still looked natural and not too over the top.

It is on the sheer side and can't say it covers spots or redness, however because it applies like a dream and leaves you with such smooth skin, I found any concealer I added on top would just glide on and blend out so evenly. It is in my opinion the best product for that natural glowy/healthy look that I have come across. It was everything I had wished for and more and I am so happy I took the plunge and ordered it. I am also contemplating getting it in the next shade up for those days I use my Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning For Face as I can't bear being without it.

What didn't work for me.

For reference the two samples I received in the Jouer Moisture Tint Matte were Chamomile and Porcelain. Chamomile was too dark and Porcelain was too light. Typically the two mixed together matched my NW20 face perfectly.

At that point there was so much hype around the Matte version and I really wanted to try it, and I stupidly decided to apply it all over my face to see what all the fuss was about. BAD IDEA! Within minutes of trying it my face felt very dry and tight, It looked so powdery and very obvious as well as very itchy. I literally run upstairs to grab my wash bag so I could wash my face in the downstairs bathroom. It was so dry I also grabbed my Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask and also added my Origins Night-a-Mins around the drier areas.

SO if you are prone to oily skin or combination I really think Jouer Moisture Tint Matte would be a great product for you, and really does soak up any excess moisture on your skin, however with my dry skin that was a really bad idea and my skin needed a good two days of intensive moisturising before it got back to how it was previously. However I have been now using it exclusively on my nose as of course it isn't as Luminizing as the non matte version, but it is still very good.

I am really excited to try more Jouer products, if you use Jouer which products would you recommend?
